ISB 9, International Symposium on Bilingualism, Singapore 2013

Researchers of DICA-lab and multi-LEARN institute, Luxembourg attended ISB 9, International Symposium on Bilingualism, held in Singapore in June 2013. Contributions included a Luxembourg-Australian panel focusing on “Developing multilingualisms: methodological advancements in Europe and Australia”, initiated by Professors Jane Simpson and Gudrun Ziegler, including papers on “Bi-dialectal Australian Aboriginal  children in the classroom” (Samantha Disbray, Sally Dixon, Jane Simpson), “Hidden ESL/D learners: complex language backgrounds and the analysis of language development” (Denise Angelo, Nina Carter), “Conceptualizing language affordances for Luxembourgish as an additional language” (Adrienne Ouafo, Gudrun Ziegler) and “Multilinguals’ literacies: issues of classification” (Jinyoung Choi, Gudrun Ziegler). Natalia Durus and Marnie Ludwig presented results regarding the development of Luxembourgish and plurlingual repertoires in the European context.
